AMERICAN TOURNAMENT (1 each month)

A friendly 'progressive' Doubles tournament - open to all members Junior/Intermediate/Student & Senior.

Come along and your name goes into the draw to be picked out and paired up with your 'initial' partner.

With this tournament your partner changes after every match. The winning pair stay on the court and split up to face each other across the net. The losing pair move down a court, i.e. from Court 1 to Court 2, AND split up to face each other across the net.

Using four courts out of the five, to leave one spare for others, we play 4 or 5 rounds depending on numbers on the day.  Each round is to 7 games. Sudden death deuce.

Scoring

Write down the number of games against your own name in the Clubhouse (as this is played as a pair but scored as an individual).

At the end of the 4 or 5 rounds, games are totalled up and the 1st man and 2nd lady as a pair, play a Final against the 1st lady and 2nd man as a pair.

Winners of the Final match gets 1st prize and there's a runners-up prize awarded too.
